As a part of our annual initiative, the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions (CAFE) is looking to celebrate the shining youth (under 40) in our industry in the upcoming Spring edition of our Canadian Fair News magazine which will be distributed to all active CAFE members in June 2023.
Recognizing youth in any industry is important for several reasons:
Fresh Perspective: Young people often bring new and innovative ideas to the table, and their unique perspectives can lead to breakthroughs and advancements in the industry. Recognizing and leveraging their contributions can help our industry stay competitive and relevant.
Future Leaders: The future of any industry lies in the hands of its younger generation. The youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. By recognizing and supporting young people, we are investing in the future of our industry and ensuring that it continues to thrive and evolve.
Diversity and Inclusion: By recognizing and promoting youth, we can help ensure that our industry is more diverse and inclusive. This can help bring in new voices and bring a range of experiences and perspectives that can help to create a more inclusive and welcoming industry.
Motivation and Engagement: Recognizing youth can also help to motivate and engage them in the industry. Feeling valued and appreciated can increase job satisfaction and ultimately lead to greater productivity and success.
If you know of an inspiring young person in our industry who shows great potential, nominate them by emailing info@canadian-fairs.ca with the following information:
The nominee’s full name (whether that be their legal or preferred name),
The Fairs and Exhibitions organization which they work for or with,
A short bio or description of their background in the industry, (~100 words)
A short description of why they deserve to be recognized in the Top 10 – why they love this industry, their impact so far, initiatives they have led, etc.! (100-150 words)

Please note that to be considered:
Nominees must be under the age of 40.
Nominees must be a part of a CAFE member organization, an Individual CAFE member or working within the Fairs and Exhibitions industry for over a year.
