Saturday, January 25, 2020 – The Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions (CAFE) is pleased to announce the appointment of our new President, Amanda Frigon of Edmonton Northlands.
“I am honoured to have been appointed as the new President of the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibition. I am also very grateful for your faith and trust in me to continue the great work of my predecessor John Peco,” says Amanda.
While this is exciting news, it also comes with the news that outgoing President John Peco (Canadian National Exhibition) has left his position at the CNE and therefore has tendered his resignation to the CAFE board. The CAFE board wishes John all the best on his future endeavours.
Amanda has been a central figure at Northlands and K-days for 13 years, where she now holds the position of Fair Director.Amanda comes to the role of President with over three years experience on the board and previously held the position of Vice President, Finance. Her wealth of experience, passion and dedication to fairs will continue to be an asset to the CAFE Board, and this new role sets her in a prime position to carry out mandates and programs forward.
Amanda will work closely with the CAFE board to continue to meet the goals of the organization’s strategic plan, with three main pillars: membership value, leadership and connecting people.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the amazing board we have in place and to continue to dive into the strategic plan that we feel will set up the CAFE association for a sustainable future. I want to thank our friend John Peco and wish much happiness in his next adventure,” says Amanda.
Amanda will act as the President in the interim until the Annual General Meeting in November, at which time she will be eligible for election as the President for a full term of two years.
